[ zokla's mouth drops open, her expression torn between surprise and elation. peach and knife forgotten, she slides off her seat. her eyes flick up looking for whatever it is keeping him aloft. bending down, she waves a hand under his feet as if she might encounter some support she cannot see. nothing but air above and below. ]

[ because clearly this is information he should have opened with. she smacks him on the knee for good measure for keeping it a secret. her knuckles protest the action. ]

she looks from him to his little finger, plainly bemused. swear she understands and she figures this must be how his people seal promises. after a second, she holds out her own pinky. ]

[ He curls his pinky finger around hers. ]

[ she looks at their little fingers a moment. a pinky promise. she'll remember it. the proper way here to seal a deal. ]

[ The kettle is boiling by now. Clark takes out two mugs and a strainer. This is the first time he's trying out this tea, so he wants to hang around and keep checking on the infusion. ]
